Cold and wet weather is hard on equipment. Taking the time to do a detailed inspection now can save you from more costly repairs in the spring, as anything on the border of safe could very well cross that line into unsafe territory after months of winter. Below are a few things to include on your checklist.
Surfaces and connections for rusted, chipped, or deteriorating areas
Swing seats and chains including connections; look for rust or cracked seating
Slides and other roto-molded products for cracks or discoloration indicating possible weakness
Climbers for loose or damaged climbing surfaces
Spring riders for missing or damaged handles, footrests, and cracked or broken springs
